Record a payment
Put money received against a lease so the balance and interest are right.
Start: the lease Result: the balance drops and interest recalculates.
Domi Vera does not move money. The payment happened in your bank account; this is the record of it.
Steps
- Open the lease and record a payment.
- Enter the Date and Amount ®.
- Choose the Method - EFT, cash, card, debit order or other.
- Add a Reference if you have one.
- Save.
The payment settles the lease’s balance, not a specific invoice - see payments and allocation.
Many at once
For a month of bank activity, import rather than typing - see import payments.
Deleting a payment recorded in error raises the balance again, and interest for the open period goes up with it. That is correct, but it changes figures a tenant may already have seen. Where a statement has been issued, its interest is locked and the correction shows going forward.
