Read your invoice
Understand what you have been charged for a month, line by line.

How to read it
Each line is a separate charge with its own amount. Typically rent, and then utilities and any other charges your lease makes you liable for.
Rent may be less than a full month if you moved in or out partway through - that is pro-rata, and it is worked out on the days you actually had the property.
Water and electricity may show the consumption behind the amount, in kl or kWh.
If something looks wrong
Check the period at the top first - invoices are per month, and it is easy to read the wrong one.
Then contact your managing agent with the invoice number and the line you are querying. An issued invoice cannot be edited, so if it is wrong they will issue a credit note that corrects it and leaves both on your account.
Your invoice is one month. Your statement is the whole account over time - that is the one that shows what you actually owe.
