Issue a tenant statement

Send a tenant their running account - and lock that period interest in the process.

Start: the lease, Statement tab Result: an issued statement, and interest for the period made final.

Before you send

Check the interest. Issuing the statement is what crystallises it. See adjust or waive interest if it needs changing - afterwards you cannot.

The statement also needs the period’s invoice to be approved already. If it is not, generate and approve it on the Invoices tab first.

Steps

  1. Open the lease and go to its Statement tab.
  2. Choose the period and generate the draft.
  3. Check the preview - charges, payments, interest, balance.
  4. Send it.

Sending is the moment the interest becomes binding. This is the one irreversible step in the monthly cycle, and it is deliberate: the tenant receiving the figure is what makes it final.

Reissuing

Issuing it again later produces a new document rather than altering the old one, so the copy the tenant received in March still matches your copy in September.
