Attach a guarantor to a lease

Start: the lease, Lease tab Result: the guarantee is recorded against that lease.

A guarantee attaches to a lease, not to a tenant. See guarantors for why.

Steps

1. Open the lease and go to its Lease tab.
2. In the guarantors section, choose Add to Lease and pick the guarantor.
3. Save.

You can work from either direction - from the lease, or from the guarantor’s own record.

What it does not do

Recording a guarantor does not change the billing. Invoices still go to the tenant and the balance stays on the lease. It is a record of who else is liable, not an instruction to bill somebody else.
